Citation Jet Pilots 2018 Annual Convention

October 24, 2018 to October 28, 2018

San Antonio, TX

The Citation Jet Pilot (CJP) Annual Convention is a Cessna aircraft owner convention hosted by CJP.  The convention features a combination of educational and social opportunities.

CJP HISTORY AND MISSION STATEMENT

What began in 2008 as a loose-knit online community of pilots sharing common interests and concerns about their jet aircraft has evolved into one of the most influential and respected associations of aircraft owners, operators, and pilots in the world. With more than 800 members, the Citation Jet Pilots Association (CJP) is the premier organization focused on Cessna's vaunted line of advanced, efficient, and primarily owner-flown Citation aircraft.

Managed by owners for the benefit of owners, CJP represents the entire range of the Citation line, including the earliest 500-series aircraft that revolutionized the light business jet industry; the immensely popular CJ line that offers an unparalleled blend of comfort, practicality, and efficiency; through to the Citation X, the fastest business jet available.

Today, CJP offers the best value proposition to its members through a multitude of benefits, top-tier events, and opportunities to exchange ideas and interact. For example, an active online forum is available for members to ask questions, share insights, and gain wisdom from others, all in the spirit of operating and maintaining their Citations with the utmost safety and efficiency.

Members also benefit from unlimited access to the Russ Meyer Citation Library (RMCL). Unveiled in 2015, is the largest online repository of curated articles addressing the entire scope of Citation history and operational aspects, including a growing selection of training and maintenance materials and pilot reports for each Citation aircraft series.

One of CJP’s most important roles is as a conduit between owners and companies that support the Citation fleet. Thanks to CJP's relationships with valued Partner companies – Platinum sponsors Garmin, ProFlight, FlightSafety International, jetAVIVA, Tamarack Aerospace Group, Gold sponsor Rockwell Collins and Davis Estates, Silver sponsors BendixKing and Duncan Aviation, Diamond sponsors CAMP, Pratt & Whitney Canada, Sierra Industries and Williams International, among many others – members may also take advantage of significant savings for a number of services and products essential to operating a Citation.

CJP’s most important Partner, of course, is Cessna – and the manufacturer has supported CJP since its inception. Today, Cessna parent company Textron Aviation is a CJP Platinum Plus Sponsor that actively participates in every major CJP event. This relationship also provides an open channel of communication between CJP members, the factories that produced their Citations, and the engineers and maintenance professionals who keep the fleet flying.

In March 2009, CJP held its first formal gathering of Citation owners in Tucson, AZ. In the years since, CJP’s annual convention has grown into a multi-day event featuring an unparalleled combination of educational and social opportunities, against the backdrop of such historic and luxurious venues as West Virginia's storied Greenbrier, The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, and the famed Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans.

Each year, the convention has continued to grow in popularity, due in large part to the excellent line-up of speakers and seminars. A full slate of educational seminars covers a wide gamut of topics, from engine care, to training strategies to avionics tips and techniques. The ever-popular Companion training program teaches non-pilot spouses and partners the basics of airmanship and radio communication, followed by a two-hour training session flying their actual Citation.

In addition to CJP’s annual convention, the association also holds multiple regional events each year, bringing Citation owners together, face-to-face, in a unique venue. The regional events typically include Citation-specific educational sessions, as well as plenty of time for members to exchange ideas and insights about operating their aircraft, and to enjoy activities in picturesque locales.

The CJP Hall of Honor recognizes the contributions of Cessna Citation heroes and legends, including Cessna Chairman Emeritus Russ Meyer, Jr.; retired Citation design master and company leader Bruce Petermen; golfing legend and renowned Citation pilot Arnold Palmer; and Sam Williams, founder of engine maker Williams International. CJP members also help to support a wide range of philanthropic activities, including the Bob Hoover Presidential Scholarship for college-level students pursuing aviation careers.

Although CJP has grown from its email exchange roots into a full-fledged and widely-respected owner/operator community, featuring a multitude of benefits and top-tier events, its core mission remains unchanged: to help likeminded Citation owners operate their aircraft in a safe, professional, and efficient manner, while also fostering new friendships.
